Meet Laura Ruderman, LSW

Specialties:

“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.”
– Nido Qubein

Before becoming a social worker, Laura was an educator for many years. After a career teaching middle school, adolescent, and college-age students, it became evident that the students were in far greater need of mental health care than anything else. Laura’s understanding and appreciation for her students on an intellectual, emotional, and personal level gave the insight to best meet the needs of my clients as a therapist.

Laura has an MSW from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work of Yeshiva University, an MA In Latin American and Iberian Studies from UCSB, and a Ph.D. in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Maryland College Park.

She is bilingual in Spanish and English.

Laura Ruderman looks forward to working together as we navigate the challenges of everyday life, trauma, anxiety, and depression, among other conditions that can make us feel like we are suffering alone. Respect and unconditional positive regard are essential components of the therapy I provide my clients to create a supportive therapeutic environment.
