Meet Dr. Tracey Waldman, PhD – Psychologist
Dr. Tracey L. Waldman is a licensed clinical psychologist in both New York and New Jersey. She understands that there are major stressors during life and is committed to helping her clients and their families work through these obstacles and develop coping strategies to create happiness. She works with individuals, couples and families to explore issues that are creating conflict and anxiety and improve the communication needed to enhance relationships.
Dr. Waldman obtained her doctorate from the George Washington University. In addition, she holds a B.S. in both Psychology and Child Study from Tufts University. She completed residencies at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx and Four Winds Hospital in Katonah, N.Y. where she worked with adolescents and young adults struggling with depression. Her specialties include marriage counseling, substance abuse, women’s issues, adolescents and young adults. Each stage of life provides unique challenges and Dr. Waldman strives to help her clients navigate these transitions.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Waldman has been the Clinical Director and Vice President of an Employee Assistance Program for over 20 years. She utilizes this experience with leaders of various corporations and government agencies in her clinical work as she assists her clients in enhancing leadership and communication skills both at work and at home. She has done extensive training in the areas of conflict resolution, sexual harassment and discrimination and communication.
Dr. Waldman has been published in the Journal of Personality Assessment and the Journal of Interpersonal Violence as a result of work with victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse. In addition, Dr. Waldman was the co-author of Sexual Function in People with Disability and Chronic Illness. She worked with spinal cord injury patients at the Kessler Institute and was impressed each day by the resiliency of her clients after catastrophic injury.
As the mother of four children, Dr. Waldman understands the complexities of parenthood today and works with her clients with children and adolescents to help navigate the pressures of today’s society.
