Notice the Signs
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is triggered when a person experiences or witnesses a terrifying event. There are certain signs or symptoms PTSD sufferers may display or experience.
Flashbacks
Persons affected by PTSD will experience flashbacks and relive a traumatic experience. Sometimes, a person may even have nightmares about the terrifying incident.
Negative Mood
You will notice negative thinking and mood from a person suffering from PTSD. These include the inability to express positive emotions, emotional numbness, lack of interest, and feeling of hopelessness.
Avoidance
PTSD sufferers will avoid thinking about traumatic events. Additionally, they may avoid certain places, people or activities that may be a reminder of the event.
Sometimes, the symptoms may not appear right away, but when they do, it’s recommended to get immediate treatment. Contact Family Psychiatry and Therapy if you need help from a psychiatrist.
